[ She only has a few more months in Hawkins before she's bound for Boston and even though she feels like she's been waiting for that moment her whole life, every day that gets a little closer gets more and more bittersweet.
Part of that is because the latest fight with Vecna opened her eyes to everything she was missing while she kept her head down and buried in the paper instead of spending time with her friends. Maybe because part of her thought Jonathan was the only real friend she had left. It had been eye opening, spending time with Steve and realizing that he was still there for her, even if it wasn't in the same way as when they'd been together. He still made her feel safe and taken care of. And she'd gotten to know Robin, who she had harshly judged because of how close she was to Steve. They'd had a rocky beginning, but it'd become glaringly obvious how much she and Steve weren't an item as well as why they were so close.
Robin was fun, sarcastic and a constant stream of consciousness that should've put Nancy on edge, but actually managed to calm her. She was smart and quick thinking, saving their asses at the mental hospital, and brave. So incredibly brave. Nancy can't believe that she had almost missed out on getting to know Robin completely.
She pulls up to the house at 7pm sharp, giving Robin a small wave and a smile. She's waiting on the porch, which Nancy takes to mean she is eager to escape her house. Nancy reaches over to unlock the passenger side door for her. ] Happy Birthday!
